Millions of years in the making from the heart of the English Lake District. Slate has a long history being used by the Romans
All the Slate used by wanderminddesigns was formed over 500 million years ago .The slate is sourced in Cumbria from quarries that have been mining Slate since the time of Henry VIII.
All the slate is carefully selected for natural colours and textures. We particularly enjoy finding Slate which has strong seams and natural faults which add interest and aid the design process. wanderminddesigns have access to small offcuts of slate which is how we make our products so affordable.
